Apprenticeship scheme
Accelerate your career
With a Jisc apprenticeship, you’ll have the opportunity to work towards a qualification while gaining invaluable on-the-job experience. You'll work towards a recognised qualification, from level 3 (equivalent to A-level) to level 6 (equivalent to a degree), all while gaining valuable hands-on experience.
Apprenticeships at Jisc cover a range of business areas and may include opportunities in areas such as:
- Technology and IT services: supporting infrastructure, cyber security, and digital solutions
- Business and project management: driving change and delivering improvements
- Finance and operations: learning how to manage budgets and processes effectively
- Digital and creative: creating engaging content and supporting marketing strategies
Roles vary each year based on business needs, but all offer the chance to work alongside experienced professionals, contribute to meaningful projects, and develop transferable skills.
Whether you're passionate about technology, business, or creative problem-solving, an apprenticeship with Jisc is a great way to start your career journey.
Meet our apprentices
Amy, Cameron and Owen share why they applied to be apprentices and their experiences of working at Jisc.
Who can apply?
At Jisc, we celebrate diversity and know that it is critical to our success. We work hard to make sure we’re inclusive and welcome all applicants who share our values and want to join us in our mission to improve lives through digital transformation.
We want to hear from you, no matter what your journey has been like up until this point. This is an opportunity to increase your knowledge and gain the practical skills and experience needed to propel your career forward. Find out more about the benefits of working for Jisc.
There are different entry requirements depending on the apprenticeship level:
- To apply for a Level 3 apprenticeship, you must have a GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English
- For Levels 4 and above, you may need additional qualifications, for example A-Levels (or equivalent) or two years of relevant work experience
There may be more specific requirements for certain schemes. Some apprenticeships may require you to have studied a specific subject at school or college, for example. All role requirements will be made clear on the apprenticeship adverts when the schemes open.
Applications for our 2026 apprenticeship scheme will open in January 2026, but you can register your interest via Prospects from December.
"I have had one-to-one support, not just from my team, but throughout the company, which has always pushed me to progress through each stage of my apprenticeship. For anyone considering this route, I would wholly recommend."
Amy Holloway, legal apprentice
