Working for us
Join Jisc and be part of a not-for-profit organisation that empowers the higher, further education and skills sector with technology.
What we do
Our talented people bring their own unique skills and experience to empower our members and customers with the technology they need to succeed:
- Operating shared digital infrastructure and services
- Negotiating sector-wide deals with IT vendors and commercial publishers
- Providing trusted advice and practical assistance for universities, colleges and learning providers
At Jisc, everyone plays a key role in driving change - we think that's the definition of a meaningful career. Take your next career step with us and you can make a real difference to the education and research sectors.
A smarter way to work
We embrace different ways of working to help you achieve your potential.
Not the normal 9-5
We have friendly, open plan, modern offices in Bristol, Harwell (Oxford), London and Manchester. Dependent on your role, we don’t necessarily require you to work 9–5, five days a week, from a specific office or face-to-face. Jisc is a community and a very social place to work.
Smarter, flexible working
We believe in smarter, flexible working. You can look forward to a rewarding job with opportunities to develop and make a real difference to the education and research sectors.
We are proud to be part of the Tech Talent Charter and a living wage employer.
Our technology allows us to work with flexibility whilst maintaining connection with each other. We use tools such as Teams, Slack, and Yammer - all part of developing smarter ways of working that are output-focused, not location-focused.
Your voice matters
It is important to us that our people have a say in the organisation. We run a number of initiatives to support this, such as our employee voice forum and meet and greets with our leadership team.
We also hold an annual staff conference, and our ideas programme is a chance to contribute towards innovation, productivity and business improvement.
Our recognition scheme - including a quarterly awards event - is our way of giving clear and open thanks to our colleagues for doing a great job.
If you are passionate about sustainability, then we have champions in each of our business areas. Our champions gather ideas and feedback from across the organisation to help guide our strategy and make a positive impact in our communities.
Find your new role
Whether you are taking your first steps onto the career ladder, ready for more responsibility or on the lookout for your next leadership role, we might have the right opportunity for you.
