An easy, fast and compliant route to acquiring an electronic research and laboratory notebook that suits your organisation’s needs.

About the service

The electronic research and laboratory notebook is a dynamic purchasing system (DPS) which can help you purchase electronic research and laboratory notebook (ERN) products from approved suppliers.

ERNs are digital tools designed to replace traditional paper lab notebooks.

The service supports the procurement of technically sound ERNs which offer several advantages, including:

  1. Centralised data storage for ease of access and management.
  2. Automation of data entry and acquisition processes, reducing manual effort and errors.
  3. Enhanced security features to protect sensitive research data.
  4. Integration with other laboratory instruments and software, streamlining workflows.
  5. Facilitated collaboration among researchers by allowing easy sharing and real-time updates.
  6. Compliance with regulatory standards and good research practices by maintaining accurate and traceable records.

These features make ERNs invaluable tools for modern scientific research, enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and collaboration in laboratories.

To ensure the maximum benefit for our customers, we have reviewed a number of technical and non-technical entry requirements that any supplier must fulfil before joining the DPS.

The DPS is Public Contracts Regulations 2015-compliant.

Benefits

  • Reduced timescales for procurements, as the selection process is done for you.
  • Access to vetted, capable suppliers
