Role

As part of the advice team at Jisc, I stay updated on the latest developments in digital technology and how they relate to leadership and culture. My role is to translate this into meaningful advice and practical guidance through publications, blogs, training sessions, and workshops for our members. Collaborating closely with my colleagues, I work to embed the digital leadership and culture agenda across our programmes.

Background

I joined Jisc after serving as a digital teaching leader at one of the largest further education colleges in Wales. There, I led the digital learning team in delivering extended realities (XR) at scale across five campuses, the development of the college’s approach to artificial intelligence for teaching and learning, and the meaningful implementation of a learning management system (LMS) across a broad range of vocational and academic courses. Prior to this, I worked for the Welsh Government as a digital leader, where I was part of the team that delivered Hwb, a service providing bilingual digital services to all maintained schools in Wales.

The first part of my career was spent as a Geography teacher in Welsh medium schools. During this time, I led a department, served as a senior mentor and coach for early career teachers, and led the implementation of the Digital Competence Framework. I was also invited to join the steering group that made recommendations to the Welsh Government on promoting and improving computer science and digital education in Wales.
