Role
I perform development and analysis tasks in several areas of library support, within the digital resources directorate, including JUSP (Jisc Usage Statistics Portal), IRUS-UK (Institutional Repository Usage Statistics), library analytics and the library support services transformation project.
Background
I’m a coder by trade and my background features a number of simulation and modelling projects for consultancies in areas such as transport planning in central London and airborne electronic warfare.
After transitioning into the education sector, I took the lead on the cross-service implementation of federated access management ('Shibboleth') for services at Mimas (a Jisc-funded national data centre based at the University of Manchester).
More recently I was the main support at Mimas, and subsequently Jisc, for the Europe PMC (formerly UKPMC) service. In this role, I handled the day-to-day running of the service, undertook development work, provided user-support and liaised extensively with the project partners and funding bodies.
