Introductory forum

One of the best tools to use within a VLE is the discussion forum tool, but in reality it is hard to get students to engage with it. One technique to use, is to gently break the students into how discussion fora work - so using it as an ice-breaker activity, can be a good tactic. In this example I want you to introduce yourselves to the rest of the people on this course.

Start a new discussion topic (button below) with your name as the subject, and then answer these 4 questions in the 'message' section:

1. What is your name?
2. Where do you work?
3. What is your job role?
4. What is your favourite pudding?

Once you have submitted your entry, check out what others have written, and feel free to reply to their posts - by clicking on their name in the left hand column of the table below.
