Learning Providers as makARs – how Augmented Reality is being used in practice
Augmented Reality (AR) is the capability to superimpose digital information onto the real world. The growing use of multifunction devices in teaching means AR has the potential to be used for creating and supporting visual and highly interactive forms of learning. This webinar will showcase how innovative learning providers are already using AR to enhance and extend students learning experience.
The webinar will explain what these providers have done and the impact it has had with learners.
The examples will show how AR has been used in different areas of the curriculum, learners at levels and in different sectors of the educational community. A few of the areas to be consider are,
- Learners as consumers
- Learning at point of need
- Learning and assessment
- Learners as creators
The webinar will offer you the opportunity to test some of the learning resources created that make use of Augmented Reality. Part of the attraction of the technology is its immediacy and engagement and we want you to experience this. To facilitate it, you will need to have access to a suitable device (iPad 2 or greater, iPhone or iPod Touch with camera, suitable Android device*) and download apps in advance of the session. A full list of apps and printable triggers to use in conjunction with the session will be sent out at least one week in advance.
