Using Moodle to Support Learning and Teaching
This section will provide you with the session aim and learning outcomes.
In adopting a VLE such as Moodle a college will be making a commitment to invest time and resources and, will be keen to see a return as soon as possible. However the rush to get started can sometimes cause a few fundamentals to be over looked!
This section will help participants understand,
1. What Moodle is and the principles on which it is based.
2. A little theoretical content to help explain why learning and teaching on line requires a little extra thought and planning.
There's quite a lot to learn with Moodle - it's not hard but it can seem a daunting - especially if you're not very familiar with the look and feel of a VLE.
In the first week we would like to share with you 10 things we think you need to know about learning and teaching with Moodle.
The latest common inspection framework from Ofsted now assesses how digital technology is used to support and engage learners during their study. A particular aspect Ofsted look for is the ability for learners to be able to continue their learning outside of formal taught sessions.
This session will explore how three of the most commonly used Moodle Activities can be used to engage learners outside of the classroom and encourage them to continue their learning.
